My name is Sam, and I’m passionate about burgers.

There is nothing better than a quality burger and fries made with quality fresh ingredients, Nothing. I defy you to name anything more enjoyable or universally loved. And I don’t mean that mass produced fast-food stuff, I mean the kind of burger that falls apart in your hands, that drips onto your plate as you sink your teeth into it, with a taste that makes you want to stand up, put your hand over your heart and sing the Star Spangled Banner at the top of your lungs.

It’s time America felt a sense of pride toward their food. The Italians, the Chinese, and the Mexicans are all fiercely passionate about their culinary inventions, but when people mention American food it’s often said with a certain amount of shame or ambiguity. Why? I think it’s because the vast majority of American food is cheap and of low quality. But American food can and should be the best food you or anyone will ever eat.

I have come to find that there are restaurants all over the country that are reinventing or just simply improving the once great American burger. I’ll start in Utah and go from there, since that’s where I live. Join me on my quest as I search for the best burgers out there as well as other man-food. And hell, I might even throw on an apron and share some of my personal recipes with you while I’m at it. It’s a tough job, but I think I’m up for it.
